This collection of sixteen short stories by some of the best science fiction and fantasy writers is simply amazing. Patrice Caldwell has put together a stunning collection of short stories that explore the beauty and power of black girl magic. I was thrilled to find stories by some of my favorite authors such as Rebecca Roanhorse, Justina Ireland, Ibi Zoboi, and L. L. McKinney as well as new-to-me authors that I can't wait to read more of.

I really enjoyed reading these incredible stories. I felt transported to the different worlds and time periods and friends, one story has a dragon! There's magic, space ships, dusty deserts, and watery worlds under the sea. Every story within the collection is amazing and not once did I find myself skimming along. It's just so, so good!

I have really grown to love short collections like this because they always introduce me to a new author. Now that many of us have had our daily schedules drastically changed, now is a great time to find a new author to fill our already overflowing bookshelves.
